Sailing with Dummies (Hawaii to Alaska Edition)
First, a bit about the weather here. How nice it must be to bask in the warmth of July in Oklahoma (or Kansas).
It is taking some adjusting to get used to the cold. It’s not freezing temperatures. Upper 50s in the bedroom, upper 60s in the living room, and mid 50s and moist outside. But it’s pretty durned uncomfortable. Trish would probably like it!
The change from wearing shorts came overnight. We will have to keep adjusting, too. It should keep getting colder every day for the next 5-6 days.
We are more than halfway to Attu. We haven’t seen the sun since we passed the cold front a couple of days ago. From what I have read about the Aleutians, we might not see much sun for the next couple of weeks.
Daily Cuisine:
There is likely to be lots of baking from this point on (it raises the temperature in the cabin by a couple of degrees). This morning I baked cinnamon rolls (resulting in a temperature of 70 for a while!). This afternoon Melinda baked a cake.
Fishing Report:
No bites. Maybe it’s too cold for fish.
Arts and Entertainment:
I watched “Joan of Arc” this morning. It was interesting since I didn’t know much about her. It would be a stretch to call it entertaining.

Summit County News:
The Ladies Armstrong have happily joined Cathy here in the cool mountains. No wind sweeping down the hot hot plains for me this week, blessedly.
4th of July...ah! Yes! Memories yet again of my mid-eldest brother sticking the lit punk up my nose when I was but a tyke.
Le Tour began today!!! We Armstrongs are getting Cathy enthused about the whole hoo-hah. Or trying. She's being a good sport about it all...
